Homemade Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats

Ingredients:

-1 mashed (ripe) banana
-1/4 Cup Peanut butter
-2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
-1 Egg
-1 1/4 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
-3/4 Cup Rolled Oats

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In small to medium sized mixing bowl, take the banana, peanut butter, olive oil, and egg, and mix them together thoroughly.
  3. In separate mixing bowl stir together the flour and oats.
  4. Mix both mixtures together until there are no longer any clumps.
  5. Lightly spread a pinch of flour onto parchment paper, and use a roller to roll out the dough, onto the parchment paper.
  6. Use fun (OBVIOUSLY) cookie cutters to create mini dog bones, dogs, or whatever cookie appearance you would like.  I’ll roll a few into little balls like I would a normal cookie, just be ware that for smaller dogs these are difficult to eat!
  7. Place all prepared cookies onto a baking sheet with parchment paper, or spray non-stick to aluminum foil.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-25 minutes.  (This time depends on how quickly your oven works, and how thick the cookies were made, you don’t want to eat something burnt or crunchy, so neither does your pooch!)

My Pooch (Ryder) LOVES these, and they are very easy on his tummy! Plus, they are so much healthier than those store bought, preservative filled treats! Speaking of preservatives, all my ingredients I use (personally) are what I would put into my body, so my oats are organic half rolled and half organic steele cut, my flour is organic, my peanut butter is Justins, eggs are organic-cage free, and my olive oil is organic extra virgin!
